Going into the San Diego 50, I had a few main goals in mind: don’t die, don’t get injured, don’t hear any coyotes howling, have fun, and finish…in one piece. I’d like to say I succeeded on ALL of those, but there was one particular goal, I just couldn’t avoid.

ray miller 50k 2015
If you’ve read a few posts in the past month or so, you may have known I had a little race coming up called the Ray Miller 50K. Initially, I signed up for the 50 Mile back in July, but as time went on and training wasn’t going as well as I planned, I decided to…
la marathon 2015
I started writing this recap of the LA Marathon shortly after finishing the race. And then I stopped writing it. For some reason, I just couldn’t get my fingers to the keyboard, or pen to paper (yes, I still use pen and paper to write). Life was busy. However, the added days allowed me to reflect more on…
san diego 50 – my first 50 mile ultramarathon

Several days have passed since I stopped stuffing my face with delicious vegan food for Thanksgiving and I can actually write about the Tofurky Trot 5K. The Tofurky Trot benefits the National Museum of Animals & Society
griffith park trail 10k 2014
Let’s just say the day didn’t start out as smoothly as I would have hoped. Because this race started an hour earlier, my Sunday morning started earlier, and I was just a little tired and heat drained from the day before. Again I ate my banana and peanut butter for breakfast and afterwards, headed over to where I…
griffith park trail half marathon 2014
Based on my last post, it was quite apparent I was very nervous going into the Griffith Park Trail Half Marathon and 10K weekend. I didn’t know how my right foot was going to feel (even though I was able to run pain-free that week). I was scared of rolling any ankles. I was afraid my lack of fitness…
